Very welcoming, helpful staff on reception. Extremely efficient.
Friendly cleaning and dining room staff also. Wonderful breakfast - particularly the home-made chocolate spread!
We would like to have made more use of the facilities in the hotel but we were only staying the one night in Bruges and, therefore, wanted to explore the city that night.
Top Tip
We particularly liked the brewery tour. Very good guide that day. Nice walk down to it. Lots of little shops etc
Compact city so easy to explore everywhere. Would like to see Bruges in the summer.Weather spoilt our first day.

Stunning location and great staff.

The restaurant next door to the Hotel (to the left as you look at the Hotel fronatage)is fabulous. Being able to sit up in the residents lounge with a night barman and being able to smoke was a revelation. God Bless the Belgians for telling the EU what they can do with their stupid laws; ironic really as it was they who invented the damned thing - and I'm not even a smoker !

Clean, comfortable and pleasant helpful staff BUT make sure you do not get given a room in the attic which was so small that I hit my head on the sloping roof when getting out of bed in the night. They do cater for groups although there seemed to be very few people in the dining room for breakfast or around in the hotel when we were there. The secure parking in the open air was expensive - 25 euro per 24 hours. The breakfast was very good though the staff did not clear the dirty plates from the table until you'd finished
Top Tip
Just down the same road as the hotel was a new restaurant called "Chef et moi" which was excellent and such good service. The Menu for the day was Lobster salad, Monk fish and pudding all for 34 Euro's.

After the confusion when we arrived (they seemed to have given our twin room to someone else), all was very good. The breakfast is amazing (and generally costs 30 Euro per head, so to have it included in the price is a bonus!)- it really IS a champagne breakfast.
Top Tip
Try Den Dyver restaurant - next door to the Hotel.
L'Estaminet de Garre is a great little bar down an alley way just off the Burg. be warned, the house beers are 11%!

Room small and a little tired, probably better to upgrade.
Well worth paying to have breakfast included.
Top Tip
Not a good city for vegetarians, forget Belgian food and go for Indian or Middle Eastern.

Small, attractive building, friendly staff, excellent restaurant (breakfast and dinner), tiny but adequate swimming pool, very cosy tea room.
Top Tip
Do boat trip/horse drawn carriage ride early in visit to get flavour of town and find out which sites to visit in depth.
