Facilities in the room would be perfect, such as tea and coffee, which would have been preferable given the weather conditions.

Excellent value meals at Den Anker, Katelijnestraat 52 - 8000. Or the 4 Winds in the main square was good value with excellent food and good service.

It's a beautiful city, easy to walk around and much more compact than some of the maps seem to suggest. Hotel was in a very good location, just a short walk from the Markt but in a quiet, canalside location. Comfy beds, lots of hot water and great champagne breakfast in the morning too.

It's all a bit expensive in town to eat out and plenty of places seem to charge for the view. We thought Cambrinius was a great pub having over 400 bottles of beer to choose from!

The "garden room" is apart from the main hotel and has a somewhat "quirky" layout with a hall area and bathroom at the entry level and a sleeping area reached by a winding stair case. Some might find this a bit inconvenient.

We felt, that although the hotel was very pleasent and well situated, for the cost it was a little over priced. Plus the parking was a fairly reasonable distant away, so if anyone is staying there for more than a few days, they will have a lot of luggage to move from the car park to the hotel (also parking spaces are not always available, which is something that the hotel did not mention).

The Golden Carp restaurant was fantastic! Excellent staff and great seafood!

Lovely hotel. We stayed on the top floor and the room was spacious with oak beams. Definitely worth sitting in the garden for a drink. Would most certainly return. Good location very close to main market square.

While not excessively plush this was a nice comfortable hotel. It's also well located - just a short walk from many of the key sights.

The hotel is charming but doesn't have all the extras that you might expect in a 4 star hotel such as dressing gowns - take your own
Top Tip
Try 'Spinola' restaurant just across from the hotel. It's not cheap but the food was exceptional and beautifully presented.
